XIMENA GUZMÁN

Mexican director and cinematographer. She is an active member of the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences and was nominated for the 2025 "Ariel" Awards in the category of Best Documentary Short Film for her multi-awarded short Pequeños Zorros (Mutsk Wuäjxtë).

She studied cinematography at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in México Citty and a Master’s Degree in Cinematography at ESCAC, Barcelona.
She was awarded the FONCA Young Creators Grant in México in the Documentary category, and participated in the international artistic laboratory BASS in Barcelona.

She has directed fiction and documentary short films, and shoot as Director of Photography on fictions, documentaries, music videos and commercials in digital and film in 16mm and 35mm film. She also has extensive experience as a camera operator, with handwheels on remote systems. Her career began in the camera department, working for companies such as Netflix, Disney, ViX, Paramount, Amazon, among others.
